General Purpose

Under general supervision, this role involves performing a range of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure the upkeep of assigned County buildings and facilities.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma/GED Certificate from an accredited institution and a minimum of six months of experience in custodial services, focusing on the cleaning and maintenance of building interiors.
Required Licenses or Certifications:
  • Valid New Mexico driver's license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
  • Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
Additional Requirements:
  • Must maintain a valid New Mexico driver's license.
  • Successful completion of a background check relevant to the position.
This position is subject to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Essential Job Functions
  • Perform a variety of cleaning and custodial services, including emptying trash and replacing liners, dusting and cleaning surfaces, and washing windows.
  • Conduct thorough cleaning of floors and furnishings regularly, including mopping, restroom sanitation, and replenishing supplies.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of sidewalks and entry areas around facilities.
  • Conduct daily inspections to identify maintenance needs such as light bulb replacements and minor repairs.
  • Keep track of inventory levels and notify supervisors when supplies are low.
  • Carry out other job-related duties as assigned.
