Service Desk Specialist Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Service Desk Specialist to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our customer service department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our customers via phone and email, utilizing sales order entry systems and knowledge base resources to resolve complex issues and meet their needs.

About the Role

This is a full-time opportunity based in New York, offering an estimated hourly pay range of $19.00-$20.00. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines to deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide expert support to customers via phone and email, using sales order entry systems and knowledge base resources* Collaborate with internal teams to resolve customer complaints and meet their needs* Utilize superior communication skills to ensure prompt and accurate responses to customer inquiries* Develop strong relationships with customers, exceeding their expectations through exceptional service* Participate in ongoing training and development to stay up-to-date on new processes and initiatives within the company

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:* High school diploma or equivalent, college desirable* Two years of related customer service experience preferred* Prior experience working in Oracle JD Edwards Enterprise One Software and SAP Software preferred* Excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly, outgoing personality* Superior communication skills, including probing, active listening, and written skills* Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment
