Job Summary

The Tow Motor Technician is a critical member of our team at Edge Plastics Inc., responsible for operating and managing industrial trucks to load and unload materials and finished goods within our production environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Shift Inspections: Completes all pre-shift inspection checklists on all power equipment to ensure safe operation.
  • Inventory Management: Uses approved scanning technology to scan labels and update the ERP system to the location of the product while unloading/loading product on truck for delivery or accepting delivery.
  • Loading and Unloading: Responsible for ensuring that the correct product is loaded and quantities loaded are accurate and match inventory records.
  • Palletization System Expertise: Subject matter expert on the usage of the palletization system, responsible for retrieving pallets in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Quality Control: Checks pallet labels to ensure labels match product and ensures correctness prior to loading.
  • Warehouse Maintenance: Ensures infeed conveyor line is never more than 50% filled and maintains the palletization system by placing pallets, replacing plastic wrap, and addressing system alarms.
  • Safety and Housekeeping: Safely stacks/unstacks/moves large quantities of goods on trucks and/or warehouse/storage locations using the tow motor, and performs housekeeping duties for workstations.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Reports mechanical or electrical tow motor concerns to Plant Maintenance Managers, and performs all duties as directed/assigned by Supervisors, Shipping Manager, Assistant Plant Manager, and Plant Manager.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Experience: Minimum of six (6) months experience driving power equipment, and valid state motor vehicle operator's license.
  • Skills and Abilities: Must be able to physically move throughout the warehouse, climb on/off power equipment, and operate per safety standards; must be able to lift 50 lbs repetitively; must be able to visually inspect/identify products and read labels; and must possess analytical and counting skills.
