Position Overview:

Role Summary:
The Senior MRI Imaging Specialist is responsible for executing MRI examinations and associated techniques, generating diagnostic images for interpretation by licensed independent practitioners.

The Specialist oversees the daily operations of technical staff within the MRI department, which includes training, staffing, educational initiatives, and performance assessments.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of workflows, procedures, and operational processes related to MRI imaging.
  • Select suitable MRI pulse sequences in accordance with established protocols.
  • Implement magnetic resonance safety principles to reduce risks to patients, self, and others.
  • Identify, prepare, and administer medications as prescribed by licensed practitioners.
  • Collaborate closely with other modalities and departments under the guidance of the Radiologist.

Qualifications:

Education:
Associate's degree from an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) accredited institution (preferred).

Licensure/Certification:
Certification and Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Diagnostic Radiology with Advanced MRI (required).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (preferred upon hire, required prior to direct patient care).

Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Ultrasound Technician (required).
Preferred 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technician.
Familiarity with EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) is advantageous.
