Job Summary:

Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems is seeking a skilled MRI Imaging Specialist to join our team. As an MRI Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for performing MRI procedures utilizing MRI scanners and power injectors to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform MRI procedures safely and efficiently, adhering to established imaging protocols.
  • Assess patient risk for allergic reaction to contrast media and other related medications.
  • Administer contrast or other imaging agents, identifying incompatibilities and interactions.
  • Provide accurate explanations and instructions to patients and families, verifying understanding and agreement.
  • Document deviations from protocol and patient-specific issues that may impact image quality.
  • Notify healthcare providers of immediate clinical responses necessary based on procedural findings, patient condition, or other relevant concerns.

Requirements:

  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) or Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB), ARRT-MRI.
  • BLS certification.
  • Successful completion of a 6-month orientation.
