Position Overview

Dal-Tile is currently looking for a Manufacturing Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. As a Manufacturing Machine Operator, your primary responsibility will be to operate production machinery, monitor production metrics, and make informed decisions regarding process adjustments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate production machinery, monitor production metrics, and conduct inspections or tests to ensure product quality.
  • Record data and make decisions on process adjustments or seek supervisory guidance when necessary.
  • Handle motor vehicles, machinery, and power tools as assigned.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent disruptions.
  • Follow standard operating procedures for production equipment.
  • May assist in sorting, box assembly, or act as a relief operator for kiln or automatic sorting machinery.
  • Conduct tests or inspections as outlined in the control plan and according to established methods.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Adhere to ISO operating procedures and maintain quality checks as specified.
  • Report any equipment or process issues to the supervisor.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent experience is required. A minimum of one year of manufacturing experience is preferred.

Skills and Competencies

Ability to work at heights requiring fall protection, strong oral communication skills, effective listening abilities, and basic proficiency in English.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this position, the associate is regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with arms. The role may involve walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Occasionally, the associate may need to sit, climb, or balance and may lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and varying temperatures. The noise level is typically loud.
