Job Overview

Core Objective:

  • The Campus Safety Officer plays a vital role in supporting law enforcement and managing security issues at educational facilities in accordance with applicable regulations and under the guidance of the Security Manager/Director.
  • This position requires collaboration with school leadership, students, staff, the District Security team, and law enforcement to ensure a secure and safe campus environment.

Position Summary: The primary responsibility of this role is to uphold the safety and security of the District's premises.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A valid Texas driver's license, a clean background check, and a strong work ethic are mandatory.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays is required.

Minimum Educational Requirements:

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required; additional college coursework is preferred.
  • Candidates should possess or be eligible to obtain a TX DPS-PSB Level II License or higher.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Familiarity with the policies and procedures of the Arlington Independent School District (AISD) and security enforcement protocols.
  • Attention to detail and strong report writing capabilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Self-driven with the capacity to perform under pressure.
  • Must exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Effective communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are advantageous.
  • Competence in reading comprehension and basic mathematical skills.
  • Proficiency in computer operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct patrols across the District, operate a vehicle, and deliver security services.
  • Investigate incidents and gather evidence.
  • Enforce regulations, respond to alarms, and carry out security inspections.
  • Assist with traffic management, crisis intervention, and provide security during events.
  • Escort students, deter loitering, and perform building searches.

Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on incidents and maintain a positive representation of the District.

  • Enforce parking and driving regulations.
  • Equipment Utilized: Patrol vehicle, two-way radios, CCTV systems, etc.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work under stress, lift objects, and adapt to irregular work schedules.
