Position Overview:

The Mechanical Assembly and Testing Specialist is responsible for the precise and effective assembly and testing of a range of moderately complex products, ensuring adherence to customer quality standards and timely delivery schedules. This role may involve tasks such as lock wiring, initial subassembly, and final detailing functions. The specialist will work with products that include mechanical components, single hydraulic systems, and various part numbers, while actively contributing to lean initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity and minimizing costs.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Execute moderately complex assembly and testing tasks utilizing mechanical skills, hand and power tools, mechanical/electronic tools, testing equipment, assembly fixtures, and inspection measurement devices within a manufacturing setting.
  2. Document test outcomes on data forms using moderately complex electrical equipment and flow measurement devices, including X-Y recorders, oscilloscopes, transducers, and related tools.
  3. Diagnose malfunctions indicated by test data and perform rework as directed.
  4. Interpret blueprints, engineering orders, assembly routes, test specifications, service bulletins, customer requirements, and quality directives.
  5. Produce and inspect assemblies that meet product specifications, assembling, testing, and/or soldering to customer and industry standards.
  6. Conduct touch-up or complete surface painting of components using finishing materials such as paint, lacquer, and glaze, including mixing paint and cleaning parts.
  7. Actively engage in lean initiatives by identifying areas for improvement and providing constructive suggestions.
  8. Assist in training less experienced team members as needed.
  9. Adhere to all safety regulations and maintain a foreign object damage (FOD) free work environment.
  10. Ensure all equipment is calibrated according to the calibration schedule.
  11. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED is required. Candidates should possess mechanical aptitude and experience in assembly/building. Ability to read procedures and follow instructions is essential. A background in aerospace (3+ years) is necessary, along with experience in pressure testing and tooling beyond basic power tools. Proficiency in soldering is a significant advantage.

Compensation:

The pay range for this position is $25.00/hr; however, the offered pay may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
