Position Overview

Role Purpose: The Senior Lender plays a crucial role in helping FreeStar Financial Credit Union achieve its mission of positively impacting the lives of our members and community through meaningful financial solutions. This involves assisting members in-branch with their accounts and guiding them through the lending process.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to established core values and standards to provide exceptional service to members.
  • Deliver accurate and efficient service for transactions, including account inquiries, deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments.
  • Utilize the Interactive Teller Machine (ITM) for various transactions, ensuring precision and efficiency.
  • Act as a backup teller, managing cash drawers and balancing daily transactions.
  • Serve as a backup vault teller when necessary, managing cash orders and verifying cash transactions.
  • Facilitate the opening of new accounts, certificates, and IRAs.
  • Assist members with inquiries regarding account functions and services.
  • Process consumer and mortgage loan requests efficiently, both in-person and over the phone.
  • Utilize training resources to support members in understanding credit insurance options.
  • Meet member needs by promoting all products and services offered by the credit union, achieving sales targets as set by leadership.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Preferred: Minimum of two years of experience in the financial sector.
  • Preferred: At least one year of experience in consumer and/or mortgage lending.
