Job Summary:

The Director of Management Consulting will lead delivery teams on high-impact State & Local Government client engagements and drive business development activities for Guidehouse's State and Local Government Practice.

Key Responsibilities:

Establish approaches to gather information from clients regarding client structure, process, technology, and culture.

Facilitate meetings with client stakeholders to gather information.

Manage quality control for project deliverables and work product consistent with Guidehouse quality requirements.

Leverage Guidehouse frameworks and other leading practices to identify and implement program improvements for clients.

Effectively leverage project resources to accomplish tasks while providing regular feedback and coaching.

Drive business development activities, including RFP responses, proposal development, and peak account planning.

Requirements:

Critical thinking to solve problems and develop innovative solutions to client management and operational challenges.

Proven abilities as a team leader, supervising teams to create an atmosphere of trust, seeking diverse views to encourage improvement and innovation, participating in various staff recruitment and retention activities, and coaching staff, including providing timely and meaningful written and verbal feedback.

Able to 'quick start' account plan and target new business opportunities that support relevant practice development goals and objectives.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree - MPP or MPA (including MBA or equivalent).

Experience managing challenging projects and serving clients.

Experience facilitating meetings and public speaking with large groups.

Experience with one or more of the following areas: business process redesign, HR consulting, business case development, IT strategy and implementation.

Management consulting skills such as project management, financial modeling, operational modeling, and stakeholder management.

Familiarity with State of South Dakota government structures and processes.

Interview Process:

Applicants will complete a case study that will be presented verbally by the interviewer. They will be asked to respond to a series of scenarios.
