Role Overview:

Responsible for designing and managing intricate instrumentation, control systems, and associated designs utilizing advanced 3D and 4D modeling software. Generates technical documentation addressing design challenges for stakeholders. Compiles initial design assessments (IDAs). Facilitates design alignment with stakeholders. Develops sophisticated human-machine interface (HMI) layouts, programmable logic controllers (PLC), and comprehensive reports. Estimates project effort levels (PELs). Aids in the evaluation and initiation of instrumentation, control systems, and related technologies. Creates training programs for end users. Acknowledged as a leader among technical and professional teams. Directs project groups and reviews the contributions of junior personnel as needed. Provides guidance to junior staff, offering insights on technical matters, client interactions, and career development. Engages in the Automation Community of Practice (CoP), concentrating on a specific area of expertise (e.g., communications, networking, instrumentation, security) and aims to become a recognized authority. May take on the role of Senior Technical Advisor or participate in the CoP committee. Manages and oversees new business initiatives. Develops proposals and presentations. Establishes project scopes and budgets. Assists in marketing and new business efforts as required to support the Automation strategy. Collaborates in formulating the overarching Automation strategy. Reviews basic to complex component-level shop drawings. Provides answers to information requests (IRs) under guidance. Conducts field acceptance evaluations (FAEs) and site inspections. Performs additional responsibilities as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. 12 years of pertinent experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be necessary, depending on specific responsibilities and project requirements. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

Expertise in Substation engineering, including detailed design for high voltage substation projects up to 345kV, covering:

- Protective relay configurations

- Relay schematics and wiring diagrams

- Equipment specifications and selection

- Hardware specifications and selection, including SCADA/RTU components

- Familiarity with NESC & NEC standards

- Substation grounding grid design and lightning protection
