Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Crew Leader to join our team at Wright Tree Service. As a Crew Leader, you will be responsible for supervising a line clearance crew and planning daily work to ensure efficient and safe operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Direct Crew Members: Assign tasks, provide guidance, and ensure crew members are working in accordance with accepted line clearance practices.
  • Plan and Coordinate Daily Work: Develop daily work plans, prioritize tasks, and adjust to changing field requirements.
  • Enforce Safety Protocols: Recognize and mitigate hazards, conduct safety training, and ensure crew members are following safe work practices.
  • Communicate with Customers and Stakeholders: Obtain permission for tree trimming or removal, arrange access, and provide updates on work progress.
  • Manage Crew Performance: Monitor crew productivity, identify areas for improvement, and provide feedback to crew members.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Keep track of crew performance, time sheets, and reports related to job completion.
  • Operate and Maintain Equipment: Ensure trucks and equipment are in good working condition, perform routine maintenance, and request repairs as needed.
  • Respond to Emergencies: Determine the best course of action to eliminate hazards and restore service during emergency situations.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience working on tree trimming or clearing crews.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, handle stressful situations, and multitask.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Basic knowledge of trees, electrical circuits, and arboricultural techniques; ability to read and understand circuit maps; and proficiency in operating equipment.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Valid commercial driver's license, medical card, and herbicide applicator or operator certification.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift, move, and maneuver up to 50 pounds; work in various weather conditions; and wear personal protective equipment.
