Hazardous Materials Technician

At Clean Harbors in South Portland, ME, we are seeking a skilled Hazardous Materials Technician. As an Environmental Tech/Laborer, also known as an Environmental Technician, you will be responsible for performing tasks related to emergency response, environmental waste clean-up, site remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling hazardous materials. The ideal candidate will prioritize Health and Safety above all else by adhering to safe work practices, policies, and processes.
About the Role
The successful candidate will perform various duties including emergency response activities such as chemical spills, water contamination, tank cleaning, and equipment decontamination. You will ensure that all operations are conducted in a safe manner at all times. Additionally, you will maintain a clean-shaven face due to respirator requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in construction, landscape, sewer, or related fields to apply their skills in a safety-focused environment.

Clean Harbors provides a competitive salary, estimated around $45,000-$60,000 per year, depending on experience. Requirements
To succeed in this role, you must have a valid driver's license, a high school diploma or equivalent, and prior experience in construction, landscape, sewer, or related fields is preferred but not required.
