Defensive Cyber Operations Practice Leader Job Summary

Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Defensive Cyber Operations Practice Leader to drive the growth and success of our Defensive Cyber Operations Practice Area within the Leidos Digital Modernization Sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a robust defensive cyber strategy aligned with customer goals and objectives.
  • Identify emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in cyber.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define the vision and roadmap for the Defensive Cyber Practice.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of cyber engineers, analysts, and consultants.
  • Engage with clients to understand their security needs and challenges.
  • Provide thought leadership, advising on emerging cyber security trends, zero trust architectures, and defensive cyber best practices.
  • Build strong client relationships and act as a trusted advisor.
  • Lead security engineering efforts to develop new solutions based on industry standards and best practices.
  • Drive revenue growth by expanding our defensive cyber portfolio.
  • Identify new business opportunities and contribute to business development efforts.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Proven experience (at least 15 years) in cybersecurity, with a focus on defensive cyber operations, engineering, architecture, design, and implementation.
  • Proficiency in implementing and managing cybersecurity technologies such as intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM solutions, endpoint protection, and secure network architecture (e.g. zero trust).
  • Familiarity with cloud security, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST Cyber Security Framework, NIST SP 800-53, ISO/IEC 27001, DoD RMF, or CIS Controls.
  • Certifications such CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), CISM (Certified Information Security Manager), are a plus.
