About the Position

The Commonwealth Cyber Initiative (CCI) is seeking a highly qualified Research Assistant Professor to join its Northern Virginia Node. As a key member of the CCI team, you will conduct research in cybersecurity and related areas, collaborate with faculty from across the Commonwealth, and support the educational endeavors of the Department of Cybersecurity Engineering at George Mason University.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to Mason's active cybersecurity research program and foster new and existing research collaborations with academic, industrial, and governmental institutions in Virginia and the greater Washington DC metropolitan area;
  • Work collaboratively with faculty from across Virginia institutions to develop joint proposals and support research initiatives that advance Virginia's reputation as a global leader in cybersecurity;
  • Mentor students in cybersecurity and related disciplines and support the Department of Cybersecurity Engineering's educational initiatives.
Requirements
  • Terminal degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field;
  • Outstanding cybersecurity research record and commitment to fostering interdisciplinary research/education;
  • Experience conducting cybersecurity research.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience preparing proposals for sponsored research;
  • US Citizen able to obtain a US government security clearance.
