We are seeking a dedicated individual for a PRN (as needed) front desk/medical receptionist role. This position involves flexibility and may require travel to various locations within our network.
Work Schedule:
Shifts are tentatively scheduled from 8am to 8pm, with 1-2 shifts per week on a floating basis. Weekend and holiday rotations are mandatory, with schedules provided on a monthly basis.
Role Summary:
The Patient Services Representative serves as the initial point of contact for patients and clinical personnel. Responsibilities include patient check-in, insurance verification, collection of co-pays and outstanding balances, along with various front office tasks. This role is crucial in ensuring that patients receive exceptional service during their experience with Beaumont Urgent Care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients and offer guidance to all visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Evaluate health insurance benefits, confirm insurance eligibility, and communicate pertinent information regarding payment policies and billing processes.
- Ensure the Beaumont Urgent Care reception area is well-maintained and welcoming.
- Carry out clerical duties while adhering to established protocols and procedures.
- Assess and collect each patient's financial obligations.
- Support the practice manager and other team members as needed.
- Provide comprehensive assistance to Physicians and facilitate office operations.
- Gather and record patient history accurately.
- Comprehend and uphold standard healthcare regulatory requirements.
- Safeguard and manage all patient and business documents while ensuring confidentiality.
- Execute office procedures, including general administrative tasks.
- Document all medical interventions in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
- May be required to travel to nearby Beaumont Urgent Care locations to provide staff support.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: At least one year of experience in a medical office or emergency room environment.
- Urgent care experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Availability to work from 8am to 8pm for three days a week, including rotating weekends and holidays.
- Experience with insurance eligibility and co-pay determination is preferred but not essential.
