Stryker is seeking a Senior Analytical Chemist (Hybrid) to enhance our Joint Replacement division. This role involves conducting chemical analyses to ensure the safety and efficacy of our comprehensive product range.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee analytical chemistry evaluations for new product innovations and modifications to existing medical devices.
  • Manage daily laboratory operations, including preventive maintenance, calibration, procurement, lab metrics, and sample organization.
  • Conduct analyses utilizing GC-FID, GC-MS, ICP-MS, TOC, and other laboratory instrumentation.
  • Direct departmental projects, establishing timelines and milestones.
  • Review and validate testing data to endorse all internal documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to project timelines.
  • Present laboratory key performance indicators to management and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Develop policies and procedures aligned with industry best practices and regulatory standards.
  • Lead investigations into root causes, equipment issues, and out-of-specification results.
  • Facilitate validation processes within the laboratory.
  • Guide, mentor, and train junior scientists and other team members in analytical chemistry.
Qualifications:

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline with a minimum of 4 years of experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or chemical sectors.
  • Proven ability to manage daily operations within a chemistry laboratory.
  • Familiarity with cGLP, cGMP, ANSI, AAMI, ISO, FDA, and USP guidelines relevant to residual chemical analysis for medical devices.
Preferred
  • Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and statistical software.
  • Strong communication, project management, and influencing skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, including formal presentation and analytical skills.
  • Adept at working effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Strong critical and analytical thinking capabilities.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in scientific and technical writing, along with leadership abilities.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work independently.
Travel Requirement: 10%
