We are in a constant state of innovation to elevate the standards of engine and game development.PUBLIC POLICY OVERVIEW The Epic Games Global Public Policy team is instrumental in establishing connections with policymakers, trade organizations, and advocates at various levels.
They assess, track, analyze, and prioritize policy trends, legislative initiatives, and industry challenges that are significant to Epic.The Public Policy team operates within Epic's Global Affairs division and collaborates closely with legal, product, and executive teams to shape the company's policy stances and strategies.
Key Responsibilities Epic is dedicated to fostering a secure and engaging environment for all our players.We are in search of a Policy Director to pinpoint opportunities and challenges within the global policy landscape to enhance trust and safety across Epic's offerings.
The Director will engage with governments, elected representatives, and civil society organizations to promote laws, regulations, and policy standards that empower Epic to support creator and developer communities globally while delivering enjoyable and inclusive experiences for individuals of all ages.
In this role, you will:- Monitor global policy developments and actions related to content moderation, child online safety, and data protection, providing insights and recommendations to Epic teams.
- Coordinate briefing strategies with policy stakeholders and represent Epic in discussions with diverse audiences.
- Craft external narratives and talking points, and manage initiatives that bolster our policy efforts to ensure a safe and trusted environment across Epic's products and services.
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in law, policy, or a related field preferred.
- Over 10 years of leadership experience in a public policy capacity.
- Deep understanding of policy issues surrounding content moderation and consumer protection, including age-appropriate design and child online privacy.
- Experience in the US, EU, and/or UK is preferred.
- Proven track record of successful execution; adept at developing and implementing programs and processes.
- Strategic and forward-thinking approach to global legislative, regulatory, and public policy matters.
- A collaborative team player who can work cross-functionally to grasp business objectives and identify global legislative and regulatory opportunities and risks.
Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale.
Compensation varies based on various factors, including skills, qualifications, knowledge, and experience.
In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic's comprehensive benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).
