Position Overview

Division Focus

The Capital Planning team plays a pivotal role in enhancing collaborative and equitable capital investment strategies. With a projected investment exceeding $159 billion in infrastructure over the next decade, the team is responsible for integrating planning perspectives into the city’s capital budget and decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities

The Associate Analyst will focus on various projects aimed at maximizing the impact of capital planning. Responsibilities include:

  1. Data Analysis and Modeling: Utilize Excel and Python to create data models and conduct spatial analyses that inform decision-making.
  2. Report Development: Assist in the preparation of essential reports, including the Ten-Year Capital Strategy and Citywide Statement of Needs, by gathering inputs, drafting content, and managing data.
  3. Project Coordination: Collaborate with various city agencies and borough offices to assess neighborhood capital needs and facilitate project implementation.

Required Qualifications

Candidates should possess a strong foundation in data analytics, excellent communication skills, and a passion for urban planning. A baccalaureate degree and relevant experience in city planning or a related field are required.
