Job Summary

ARK Systems is seeking an entry-level Fire Alarm Inspector Assistant to join our Service Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Lead Inspector while they test electronic alarm systems consisting of fire, security, access, sprinkler, etc.
  • Generate electronic and written documentation for system certification in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Communicate with ARK team members to effectively pursue the company's goal of certifying alarm systems according to acceptable standards and practices.
  • Present themselves in a positive, professional manner and adhere to company policy.
  • Refer customer concerns to the Lead Tester and/or Contracts Manager.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of NFPA alarm system requirements and the ability to interpret code books and handbooks.
  • Able to utilize a laptop with system application software.
  • Excellent customer service and ability to work well with others.

Education and Experience:

  • Field electrical and/or electronic practical experience required.
  • High school diploma.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Able to obtain Maryland and Virginia security technician license as required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physically able to climb overhead or crawl under spaces to complete jobs.
  • Must be willing to work at heights.
  • Must be able to operate electrical tools.
  • Must be able to differentiate color coding of cables.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
