Construction Inspector

RIG Consulting Inc. is seeking a qualified Transportation Engineering Technician to join our team for ongoing Highway and bridge projects in various locations throughout District 5 in Maryland. This role involves working on MDOT-SHA, highway, bridge, and related construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform daily inspections to ensure compliance with SHA standards and specifications.
- Review inspection drawings and documents.
- Document daily activities and maintain project files.
- Travel across various terrain types.
- Read, write, and speak clearly.
- Input and retrieve information using electronic devices and software systems.
- Maneuver safely around moving traffic and equipment.
- React to hazard warning devices.
- Use required protective equipment and maintain its care, storage, and maintenance.
- Perform physical tasks such as sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, crawling, twisting, and climbing.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Withstand periods of heavy exertion.
- Travel to inspection sites.
- Tolerate exposure to noise, outdoors, adverse weather conditions, various plants and insects, and chemicals within Safety Data Sheet limits.
- Work extended hours and be on call beyond normal business hours.
- Minimum of two years of MDOT, Highway, or related transportation construction experience.
- GED or high school diploma required.
- Degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
- MARTCP bituminous and concrete.
- ACI.
- NICET in Highway Construction preferred.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position.
