Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Construction Intern to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the coordination of on-site construction activities, monitoring workflow, quality, and completion of homes under construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in scheduling subcontractors and monitoring work progress, including delivery and use of materials, supplies, tools, machinery, and equipment.
  • Monitor work quality and progress, and report any issues or problems arising from inspections.
  • Perform minor repairs, including paint touch-up, caulking, trim, checking appliances, and minor installations prior to pre-settlement inspections.
  • Provide assistance in resolving customer-service issues by suggesting measures to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Lock/unlock homes, perform computer work (Build Pro, Excel, Outlook, Word), meet with inspectors, and perform walk-throughs with homeowners.
  • Ensure a clean, safe work environment, including removal of debris from common areas and cleanliness of homes.

Requirements:

  • Working towards a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Construction Management, with knowledge and understanding of the home building industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of construction skills, including carpentry, reading blueprints, use of hand and power tools, and possess a technical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Customer-service oriented with good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge/Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel.
  • Adaptable and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with ability to coordinate several activities simultaneously.
  • Self-starter/able to work with minimal supervision.
