Job Overview

Position Summary

The Bottling Line Operator is responsible for managing the operation of packing machinery to ensure a consistent flow of products through the system, guaranteeing that each container is filled to the appropriate level. The primary focus is to ensure that all containers exiting the packing line are filled to their maximum capacity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts thorough inspections of the packing machinery to maintain cleanliness and functionality. Operates the control panel for the various components including the flume separator and conveyor systems that feed the packing machine.
  • Examines incoming containers for defects or damage. In the event of a broken container, halts operations to notify a supervisor and follows established protocols for handling broken items.
  • Monitors conveyor systems to prevent overloads, ensuring that containers are filled correctly and remain upright. Utilizes tools to address any clogs in the machinery and reports any malfunctions to the supervisor.
  • Records operational data including machine usage, product packed, and any instances of container breakage or downtime. Employs basic math skills for reporting purposes.
  • Adheres to all safety regulations and company policies.

  • May assist with packing and labor duties as needed.
  • Engages in training sessions, team meetings, and other collaborative efforts as required.
  • Receives and executes instructions from supervisors regarding various tasks.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with additional training. Proficiency in reading and writing in English is required, as well as basic math skills including addition and subtraction.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not include supervisory duties.

Equipment Utilized

Includes but is not limited to conveyors, packing machinery, and various hand tools.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to reach, stand for extended periods, push, pull, lift, and grasp objects as necessary.
  • Medium work capacity, requiring the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
  • Visual acuity is necessary for operating machinery and performing mechanical tasks.

Work Environment

Work is performed indoors with exposure to seasonal temperature changes and occasional wet conditions. Employees may encounter fumes from machinery and are required to wear ear protection due to noise levels.
