Job Summary

DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team on a part-time evening shift. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound exams utilizing state-of-the-art imaging equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify patient identity and review medical records for exam appropriateness.
  • Interview patients to obtain medical history and assess risk factors.
  • Explain procedures to patients, including risks and benefits.
  • Set up equipment and acquire images as per script.
  • Review images, document exceptions, and communicate data to radiologists.
  • Recognize and respond to medical emergencies.
  • Provide post-care instructions to patients.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities.
Requirements
  • Registered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Sonography.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) training.
  • Registered in specialty within 12 months of employment.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Analytical and clinical skills for determining age-appropriate ultrasound methods.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills for dealing with patients under stress.
  • Technical knowledge for operating equipment, including computers.
  • Ability to work in a complex environment and handle multiple priorities.
Work Environment

DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital is a comprehensive healthcare facility with a heart center, cancer care, gerontology, emergency medicine, and more. Our joint replacement program features minimally invasive knee and hip replacement surgery.
