**About the Role**

We are seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team on a part-time evening shift. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound exams, utilizing advanced imaging equipment to produce high-quality images.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Verify patient identity and review medical records to ensure appropriateness of exam or procedure
  • Interview patients to obtain, verify, or update medical history and assess risk factors
  • Explain procedures to patients, including potential side effects, risks, benefits, and alternatives
  • Set up equipment and acquire images as per script
  • Review images, make initial observations, and document exceptions from established protocols
  • Communicate data to radiologists and recognize/respond to medical emergencies as needed
  • Provide post-care instructions to patients and participate in process improvement activities within radiology practice

**Requirements**

  • Registered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Sonography (S)
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) training required within the orientation period
  • Registered in specialty within 12 months of employment in area of discipline

**Skills and Qualifications**

  • Strong analytical and clinical skills to determine the most appropriate method of providing ultrasound services
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients and hospital personnel
  • Technical knowledge to operate advanced imaging equipment and computers
  • Ability to work productively and effectively in a complex environment, handling multiple priorities
  • Knowledge of American College of Radiology (ACR) requirements for accreditation
  • Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients

**Work Environment**

This part-time evening shift position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our radiology department.
