PURPOSE STATEMENT:
The Healthcare Admissions Executive is responsible for overseeing the patient intake process within a healthcare organization, ensuring a smooth admission experience while adhering to all legal standards. This role involves collaboration with clinical teams, patients, and their families to ensure an efficient and welcoming admissions process.
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Lead the Admissions Division and foster a cohesive team environment within the department.
Execute the strategic initiatives of the business development and marketing sectors concerning patient admissions and guide prospective clients towards appropriate treatment options.
Provide leadership in managing quality assurance issues related to crisis intervention, evaluation, intake, and admissions processes.
Allocate and oversee scheduled evaluations, intakes, or admissions based on requests and facility occupancy.
Conduct quality assurance and enhancement programs for all crisis intervention, evaluation, intake, and admissions services.
Engage in follow-up communications and generate actionable insights for organizational leadership.
Develop and implement policies and procedures that direct the delivery of services.
Responsible for recruitment decisions within the Admissions Division, providing orientation, training, and ongoing educational opportunities for department personnel and other staff involved in crisis intervention and evaluation services.
Act as a clinical liaison with referral sources.
Strive to enhance efficiency and quality in service delivery within the department, while being accountable for achieving departmental goals and objectives.
Ensure that the department remains informed and compliant with evolving laws and regulations.
Recruit, train, and supervise departmental staff.
Manage departmental finances, preparing and monitoring budgets to ensure operations remain within allocated resources.
Identify and implement best practices for admissions, promote the organization, and maintain a satisfied patient population.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
A Bachelor's Degree or a nursing license is required; a minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare admissions is necessary for candidates with a Bachelor's degree.
Three years of experience as a Director of Admissions in a substance abuse treatment facility is preferred.
LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/
CERTIFICATIONS:
State licensure such as LCSW or LMHC may be required for this position, or CAC/CADC where applicable.
CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification are mandatory (training will be provided upon hire).
First aid certification may be required based on state or facility regulations.
