Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and coordination of packaging engineering processes, encompassing all facets of packaging machinery from primary to secondary packaging, particularly in the production of pet food, treats, and litter.
  • Utilize your extensive knowledge of food processing technology, focusing on production systems, quality assurance, sanitation, and equipment design.
  • Deliver comprehensive packaging engineering designs and evaluations for capital projects, ensuring thorough documentation and field support.
  • Manage collaborations with external consultants and suppliers, applying your broad understanding of packaging standards and practices.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and provide technical support to operational facilities, identifying areas for enhancement in packaging and processes.
  • Exhibit expertise in line balancing, equipment specifications, vendor interactions, and acceptance testing protocols.
  • Assist in the formulation and refinement of departmental technical guidelines and standards.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in packaging machinery engineering within relevant sectors.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% to engage with equipment suppliers and construction sites for data collection and project assessments.
  • Steel toe shoes are mandatory (to be acquired by the candidate).

Additional Information:
  • Local candidates will be prioritized.
  • Relocation is at the candidate's expense; no allowances for per diem or home travel are provided.
  • This role requires 100% onsite presence, with no remote work options available.

Compensation:
$95/hour
