Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Mass General Brigham. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing respiratory care plans for critically ill patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient condition and develop individualized respiratory care plans
  • Administer respiratory therapy modalities, including mechanical ventilation and airway care
  • Perform and interpret tests and procedures to assess patient condition
  • Collaborate with healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Provide education and training to patients, families, and healthcare staff
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain accurate records
Requirements
  • A.S. in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent
  • One-year clinical training or equivalent
  • Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Registration (RRT) by the N.B.R.C. within six months of hire
Preferred Qualifications
  • B.S. in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent
  • Two years of previous critical care experience
  • ECMO experience strongly preferred
Work Environment

This position requires working in patient care environments, including intensive care, recovery room, and emergency room. May be exposed to prolonged periods of high temperatures in burn patient rooms and may be required to stand immobile for long periods of time in emergency situations.

Frequent exposure to communicable diseases and secretions/excretions is also expected.
