Join Our Team as a Respiratory Therapist at MGH

At Massachusetts General Hospital, we are seeking highly skilled and motivated Respiratory Therapists to join our team. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the advancement of respiratory care practices.

About the Role

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive respiratory care to patients in various settings, including adult, pediatric, and neonatal ICUs, as well as general care areas. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory care to patients, including mechanical ventilation, NPPV, and HFOV
  • Monitor and manage patients with various artificial airways
  • Administer nitric oxide, Heliox, and aerosolized antibiotics
  • Assist with bronchoscopies and percutaneous tracheostomy insertions
  • Participate in Rapid Response, Code, and Trauma Teams
  • Administer surfactant and respond to high-risk deliveries
  • Initiate, manage, and wean ECMO cases
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must be a graduate of a Co ARC-approved respiratory care program with a minimum of an Associate's degree. A Bachelor's degree is preferred. You must also have a valid MA respiratory care license in good standing and be registered as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through the NBRC. New graduates will have 6 months from hire date to become registered. All candidates must be certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).

We also provide ongoing in-service education programs with advanced training in pediatric and neonatal critical care, as well as Extra-Corporeal Life Support (ECMO).
