Role Summary

The Load Bank Technician is responsible for the upkeep and repair of load banks, resistor racks, power distribution equipment, trailers, and low voltage cables. This role involves diagnosing intricate equipment issues while adhering to safety protocols. The technician ensures that all equipment is operational and ready for rental, minimizing downtime through efficient and cost-effective practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and oversee repairs on various equipment to guarantee optimal performance upon leaving the facility.
  • Dismantle, reassemble, and rebuild equipment as necessary; fabricate parts to meet specific requirements.
  • Utilize both basic and advanced hand tools, metering devices, forklifts, and other shop equipment.
  • Prepare and receive low and medium voltage cables, AC & DC load banks, generators, power distribution devices, transformers, and trailers for rental purposes.
  • Troubleshoot and repair small load banks, resistor racks, and associated equipment.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to reduce the likelihood of repairs and downtime.
  • Perform safety inspections on all equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior mechanics involved in equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Evaluate time and cost associated with repairs.
  • Specialize in specific types of small equipment within larger profit centers.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.
  • Participate in all required training sessions and meetings.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
