Job Overview

About Interactive Brokers

This position offers a hybrid work model (three days in the office/two days remote).

Interactive Brokers Group has consistently led the way in trading innovation, beginning with the creation of the first handheld computer for trading in 1983. We take pride in being primarily a technology-driven firm that challenges conventional methods. Our commitment to providing clients with an advanced trading platform, featuring sophisticated tools at competitive prices, is evident in our exceptional brokerage services. Software development is integral to our operations, and our achievements reflect this focus.

Team Overview:

You will be part of an Enterprise Platforms team dedicated to developing ticketing solutions for internal stakeholders, utilizing both ServiceNow and Atlassian technologies. This role requires a technical authority in Atlassian products to architect and implement optimized solutions that facilitate Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Project Management, and IT Service Management processes. You will collaborate with internal project leaders from IT and Business teams to gather requirements and design, develop, and deploy solutions in Jira and Confluence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the administration of Atlassian tools, including Jira Software, Confluence, Bitbucket, and related applications. Configure, customize, and maintain these tools to adapt to the changing needs of our organization.
  • Thoroughly understand and manage the existing Atlassian environment, which includes Jira, Confluence, BitBucket, and associated integrations.
  • Provide guidance on best practices for platform development and user experience.
  • Design architectural enhancements and solutions to improve platform stability, scalability, and upgradeability, including reducing excessive customization and consolidating developed solutions.
  • Manage the upgrade process for Atlassian tools, including necessary QA testing, change scheduling, and deployment activities.
  • Create and implement custom workflows, issue types, screens, and fields in Jira to support our specific business processes, prioritizing native functionality while also managing custom scripts and integrations.
  • Facilitate and build integrations between Atlassian tools and other systems within our environment, such as CI/CD pipelines and version control systems. Collaborate with other developers on the Enterprise Platforms team regarding Jira and Confluence integrations with ServiceNow.
  • Ensure the reliability, backup, disaster recovery, and overall business continuity of Atlassian tools.
  • Offer technical support and guidance to end-users on the usage of Atlassian tools, best practices, and troubleshooting. Develop training materials, conduct workshops, and promote the adoption of Atlassian tools across the organization.
  • Monitor and enhance the performance of Atlassian applications, including server configuration, database tuning, and system maintenance tasks. Implement scalability solutions to meet increasing user demand and data volume.
  • Establish and enforce security policies, access controls, and data governance measures in accordance with Atlassian guidelines and within the company's security framework. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for information security and privacy.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, streamlining, and innovation to boost team productivity and collaboration.
  • Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to individuals with varying levels of technical expertise.

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience as a system administrator or developer, focusing on Atlassian tools and platforms.
  • Expertise in administering Jira Software, Confluence, Bitbucket, and associated plugins and add-ons.
  • Experience with both Atlassian Cloud and Data Center platforms; migration experience from Data Center to Cloud is advantageous.
  • Strong development skills in languages such as Groovy, Python, or JavaScript, with experience in customizing and extending Atlassian applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of Atlassian APIs, webhooks, and integration points for building custom solutions.
  • Solid understanding of SDLC methodologies, including Agile, Lean, and DevOps.
  • Hands-on experience with version control systems such as Git or Bitbucket, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Atlassian certifications such as Atlassian Certified Professional (ACP) or Atlassian Certified Master (ACM) are preferred.
  • Familiarity with the ServiceNow platform is a plus.
  • An understanding of the ITIL framework is a plus.

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Self-motivation and the ability to manage tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Outstanding organizational and time management abilities.

Company Benefits & Perks:
  • Competitive salary, annual performance-based bonus, and stock grant.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with a competitive company match.
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, with a company-paid medical premium.
  • Wellness screenings, health coaches, and counseling services through an Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Generous paid time off and parental leave policy.
  • Daily lunch allowance and a fully stocked kitchen with healthy options.
  • Corporate events, including team outings, dinners, volunteer activities, and company sports teams.
  • Education reimbursement and opportunities for professional development.
