KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversees the financial operations of the organization in alignment with generally accepted accounting principles, ensuring adherence to the organization's goals and objectives.
- Contributes to the formulation of the organization's business strategies and initiatives.
- Advises the CEO and administrative team on the implications of long-term and short-term planning, changes in operational programs, and regulatory interactions.
- Implements and enforces policies and procedures aimed at enhancing the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the organization.
- Facilitates ongoing improvement of the budgeting process through educating department managers on financial matters affecting their budgets.
- Collaborates with Patient Accounts to establish a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting system.
- Supervises Registration, Health Information Management, and Patient Accounts to enhance the accuracy and timeliness of cash flow and accounts receivable management.
- Leads negotiations for managed care contracts.
- Manages the accounts payable process.
- Provides leadership, including performance management and recruitment of new staff, in the Finance and Information Systems departments. Evaluates departmental structure and plans for continuous improvement.
- Participates in administrative responsibilities in the absence of the CEO.
- Engages in committees and boards, including the Governing Board and MEC, as necessary.
- Maintains professional affiliations and pursues ongoing professional development.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Preferred: Master's degree
- Extensive managerial and financial experience in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of billing and general ledger software and spreadsheets
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Ability to project a professional image and uphold ethical standards
- Proficient in prioritizing tasks and taking initiative to achieve goals
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Able to manage a heavy workload
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
