Job Overview

Position Title: Behavioral Health Technician

Salary: $20.00 per hour DOE

Reports to: Clinical Director

Position Summary:

The Behavioral Health Technician plays a crucial role within the treatment team, ensuring continuous monitoring and engagement with patients. This role is essential for fostering a supportive environment and assisting residents in their recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide supervision and support to residents in collaboration with clinical staff.
  • Assist with the onboarding of new residents, including orientation to the facility and program, as well as managing personal belongings.
  • Facilitate the discharge process for residents.
  • Conduct regular rounds to ensure resident safety and well-being.
  • Monitor the physical environment for safety concerns and report any issues to a supervisor.
  • Support patients throughout their recovery process.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks to uphold a clean and organized facility.
  • Transport residents to meetings and appointments as needed.
  • Build and maintain therapeutic relationships with residents in accordance with clinical guidelines.
  • Attend shift reports to stay informed on resident status and care plans.
  • Conduct physical observations of clients and document findings per company policies.
  • Receive training in detoxification services and recognize signs of medical distress.
  • Monitor and document client medication administration, ensuring proper inventory management.
  • Prepare nutritious meals for residents during shifts.
Qualifications:
  • Valid California Driver License.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Familiarity with recovery programs.
  • RADT or equivalent credential.
Competencies:
  • Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Understanding of vehicle safety and driving protocols.
  • Knowledge of program values and operational standards.
  • Awareness of residential and intensive outpatient program (IOP) standards.
  • Familiarity with the 12 core functions of substance use disorder treatment.
