Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Histology Specialist to join our team at Confluence Health. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in histology and contribute to the delivery of exceptional patient care.


Responsibilities
  • Tissue Processing: Prepare microscopic tissue slides for pathologists, including processing, embedding, cutting, and staining of paraffin and frozen tissue specimens.
  • Quality Assurance: Coordinate with leadership to improve services to clients, meet or exceed regulatory requirements, and report deficiencies.
  • Special Procedures: Validate, implement, and perform special stains, immunohistochemistry studies, and other specialized procedures as required.
  • Training and Development: Orient and train histology laboratory assistants and technical staff on safety procedures and best practices.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in histology, with an Associate Degree in biology or related science and HT(ASCP) Certification or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated expertise in histology techniques, including tissue processing, embedding, cutting, and staining.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 per annum, based on industry standards and location. We offer a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
