POSITION SUMMARY:

The Refugee Support Service Coordinator plays a crucial role in facilitating programs that aid newly arrived refugees and eligible immigrants in achieving self-sufficiency through employment. This is accomplished by providing guidance in employment readiness, coordinating job placements, and offering various career advancement services.

This position involves managing a team and overseeing the Wilson Fish Program for the IRC Wichita office, as directed by the Kansas Office for Refugees (KSOR). The coordinator collaborates closely with clients, colleagues, and external organizations to create tailored service and self-sufficiency plans that address individual client needs and preferences, utilizing a comprehensive array of financial, medical, social, vocational, and other resources in line with client eligibility and program stipulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to:

Familiarize and implement guidelines for services under the KSOR Wilson Fish Program while staying updated on relevant developments and public policies. Manage referrals for case management for ORR-eligible and TANF-eligible clients, participating in necessary case conference meetings to ensure continuity of care. Enroll clients in the Wilson Fish Program, assess their needs, and develop Family Self-Sufficiency Plans (FSSPs) and Individual Employability Plans (IEPs) aimed at overcoming employment barriers and achieving stable employment. Coordinate essential pre- and post-arrival services to guarantee that each client has access to necessities such as housing, food, medical care, and transportation, while also acclimating them to their new surroundings. Link clients to employment, language acquisition, and vocational training opportunities in collaboration with the Economic Empowerment and Education teams. Work with internal and external partners to review caseloads, identify clients ready for job placement, and address any participation concerns. Provide timely reporting related to Wilson Fish case management. Engage in team and partner meetings and training sessions to ensure effective communication and stay informed on developments. Supervise staff, including daily management of active caseloads, delegation of tasks, and coaching. Evaluate and report on staff performance while fostering a respectful, supportive, and inclusive environment for both team members and clients. Ensure that all interactions with clients, referrals, follow-ups, and record-keeping uphold the highest standards. Monitor client progress to support the achievement of established goals, addressing challenges, and ensuring optimal use of available resources. Document each client interaction in accordance with program requirements. Input client data into databases and assist with tracking and reporting as necessary. Ensure compliance with all contractual and reporting obligations. Lead quality data collection across all programs, producing reports and impact data to provide insights to internal and external stakeholders. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:

A Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field is preferred.

Work Experience:

A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in the human services sector is required; at least 2 years of experience in resettlement is strongly preferred. Experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations is highly desirable. Prior experience in people management is a plus.

Ability to lead in a manner that acknowledges the collaborative nature of IRC's work across diverse cultures and skill sets. Demonstrated success in working and communicating effectively within a multicultural environment. Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills, capable of multitasking, prioritizing responsibilities, and managing time efficiently. Attention to detail and accuracy in work output. Proficient in English, both spoken and written; proficiency in languages spoken by client groups is preferred. Skilled in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook); capable of utilizing the internet and other digital tools for data entry, research, and problem-solving. A valid driver's license and access to a personal, insured vehicle are required.

Work Environment:

A mix of standard office settings, remote work, and field time within the service delivery area to fulfill the outlined responsibilities. May require occasional weekend and/or evening work.

Compensation: Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.

US Benefits: The IRC offers a comprehensive and highly competitive set of benefits.
