Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software/Firmware Engineer to join our Design Engineering group. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing embedded firmware, circuit board support packages, and implementing communication protocols for system integration. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, electronics, and communication protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop embedded firmware for audio and control systems.
  • Develop circuit board support packages, including bootloaders.
  • Implement communication protocols for system integration.
  • Develop firmware for testing of products at various manufacturing sites.
  • Articulate requirements development and use-case development.
  • Define system level test cases, firmware testing, and debugging.
  • Document test cases and test results, defects, and/or issues in Defect Management Tool.
  • Provide assistance in analyzing customer product quality or customer issues.
Requirements
  • B.S. in Electrical or Electronics, Computer Science, or mathematics or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 0-2 years of experience in a structured software development environment.
  • Software Development Experience with Programming such as C, C++ (in an embedded environment) is required.
  • Knowledge of JSON and Python preferred.
  • Development experience on embedded environment/platforms.
  • Knowledge of embedded IDE's (IAR, Eclipse based, Code Composer).
  • Knowledge of SPI, I2C, Serial (RS232/485) interfaces.
  • Understanding of software design principles.
  • Have experience in developing firmware using a RTOS.
  • Understanding of Communication protocols (like UARTs, UDP, TCP/IP).
