Design Engineer - Water Resources

Bolton & Menk, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our Water Resources team in our Burnsville office.

As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for assisting Project Engineers with design and construction phase activities on water resources related projects. This includes developing hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for municipal storm drain systems and stormwater treatment, as well as assisting with CAD production of storm drain improvements and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs).

You will also assist with NPDES and MS4 compliance and Watershed district permitting and coordination, as well as developing regional stormwater plans and/or floodplain modeling and analysis. Additionally, you may be involved in design and permitting for Stream Restoration and Wetland Restoration projects, and may be required to perform field work, including SWPPP inspections, infiltration testing, field measurements, site visits, and/or construction observation.

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on water resources or bio-systems engineering, or equivalent program from an accredited college. Certification as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is preferred, and the ability to obtain certification within 12 months of hire is required.

The ideal candidate will have working knowledge and skills in CAD and design software, including AutoCAD Civil3D and MicroStation, as well as the ability to learn and utilize drainage modeling and design software, such as XPSWMM, AutoDesk Storm & Sanitary, HEC-RAS, and HEC-HMS.
