We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team at Owensboro Health. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical suites.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare the operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment, and supplies, ensuring good working order of equipment and instruments.
- Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients, maintaining a sterile field throughout the procedure.
- Pass instruments to the physician during surgery, continually accounting for the number and location of instruments and supplies.
- Receive specimens for delivery for appropriate testing, and assist with application of wound dressings and securing of drainage systems.
- Provide visualization of the operative site using appropriate methods, retraction, sponging, suctioning, and irrigation.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) required within 90 days of employment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of employment.
