Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and record patient data, including medical history and vital signs
  • Perform various front and back office clerical duties, such as scheduling appointments and verifying medical coverage
  • Prepare instruments for sterilization and maintain a sanitary work area
  • Coordinate and schedule patient appointments and communicate with providers as needed
  • Perform basic cashiering duties and collect monies for various activities
  • Assist with patient care, including preparation for treatment procedures and phlebotomy
  • Enter data into computer systems and verify accuracy
  • Provide quality customer service and ensure patient satisfaction
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Graduate of a medical assisting program or 2 years of experience as a medical assistant
  • CPR certification for healthcare providers required within 30 days of hire
  • Current certification as a medical assistant (CMA, RMA, AMT, AAMA, NRCMA, CCMA, etc.)
Working Conditions

This is a heavy work position that requires exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people. The position may also require rotating work shifts and limited access to the medical room.
