The Enterprise Classified Services Department is looking for a full-time Systems Administrator to facilitate the deployment, operation, and upkeep of IT systems within a classified laboratory setting. This role is ideal for individuals with prior experience in classified IT system administration.

Key Responsibilities:

This position is based on-site. The successful candidate will possess experience in:

  • Constructing and securing Windows, Linux, and Hypervisor systems, such as VMware.
  • Applying patches and updates to Windows and Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu) server and desktop operating systems.
  • Updating antivirus software definitions for both Windows and Linux environments.
  • Conducting user maintenance tasks on Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Performing general systems administration duties, including patching, updates, and user support for:
    • Windows and Linux desktops and servers.
    • Network switches.
    • VMware ESXi and vCenter platforms.
    • Network storage systems.
  • Maintaining additional systems/services as required by project needs (e.g., SIEMs, GitLab, Prometheus/Grafana, and other monitoring tools).

Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or an advanced degree with applicable experience; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Possession of SECRET-level clearance.
  • Proficient knowledge of server and client operating systems (Windows 10, Server 2016+, RHEL, Ubuntu Linux).
  • Fundamental understanding of laboratory IT architecture.
  • Basic knowledge of system administration, network, and operating system hardening techniques.
  • Familiarity with operating system command-line tools.
  • Ability to interact with clients and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Capability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong collaboration skills.
  • This role requires on-site presence five days a week.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Security+ Certification / 8570 Certification – IAT Level II.
  • Certification must be obtained within six months of hire.
  • DoD Top Secret Clearance (Secret clearance will be accepted).
  • Experience with programming/scripting languages (e.g., Chef, Ansible, PowerShell, Bash, Python).
