The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in delivering nursing services and care to assigned patients, adhering to organizational policies and relevant regulations. This position involves direct patient care, following established nursing protocols, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers as necessary. The RN is expected to demonstrate sound clinical judgment and effective critical thinking skills.

If selected, candidates will undergo Balfour Senior Living's comprehensive onboarding process, which includes virtual training prior to the start of in-person duties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Honor and respect the diverse backgrounds of residents, including their spiritual and cultural beliefs.
  • Utilize the nursing process effectively, performing skills as validated by the RN Competency Checklist.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of residents' physical and psychological conditions, delivering comprehensive clinical nursing care, including medication administration and symptom management.
  • Report any adverse reactions to medications or treatments in line with company policy.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members and physicians to evaluate and update resident care plans.
  • Engage in the care planning process and oversee its implementation.
  • Complete all required documentation in accordance with established policies.
  • Communicate changes in residents' conditions to physicians and other team members.
  • Provide education to residents and their families on health-related topics.
  • Ensure patient safety by reporting any identified risk factors.
  • Guide and assist LPNs and CNAs in delivering care according to established plans.
  • Receive and relay reports from nursing staff regarding resident conditions and care provided.
  • Manage initial evaluations and care for residents in emergency situations.
  • Participate in the Antibiotic Stewardship Program by assessing residents and adhering to established protocols.
  • Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and continuing education as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Valid RN license in Colorado, including multi-state eligibility.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Knowledgeable in nursing and medical practices, as well as regulations pertaining to long-term care.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling job responsibilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with residents, families, and staff.
  • Respectful of confidentiality principles.
  • Successful completion of background and health screenings as required by the organization.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • At least one year of experience in long-term care or acute care settings.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records, particularly PCC.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and squat for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 30-55 pounds unassisted.
Full use of hands, arms, and legs for various tasks.
Willingness to work beyond standard hours, including weekends and holidays.
Exposure to various working conditions, including potential allergens and pathogens.
