About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team at Liberty Mutual. As a key member of our Global Risk Solutions Surety team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing software solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with our team of scrum masters, product owners, and fellow engineers to tackle technical challenges and ensure quality.
  • Manage the end-to-end development of software products, analyzing issues at the system level and implementing effective solutions.
  • Document and lead the implementation of technical features, improvements, and innovations.
  • Continually look for ways to improve performance, quality, and efficiency, using your proactive mindset and initiative.
Requirements
  • A minimum of five years of software engineering experience.
  • A background in business operations and strategies, with a focus on business IT.
  • A history of translating client requirements into technical designs.
  • Agile engineering capabilities and a design-thinking mindset.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain your decision-making process to non-engineers.
  • A thorough grasp of IT concepts, business operations, design, and development tools, system architecture, and technical standards.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with frameworks such as React and Springboot.
  • Proficiency in software engineering languages and tools, including Java and RESTful services.
  • Knowledge of AWS, DynamoDb, S3, Cloudfront, Lambda, and Step Functions.
