Radiologic Technologist Correctional Facility

Under the direction of the Chief Medical Executive and the supervision of the Correction Health Services Administrator I/II, Correctional Facility (CF), the Radiologic Technologist, CF instructs and prepares patients for radiologic examinations and takes x-rays for a variety of body structures. The Radiologic Technologist maintains equipment and quarters and keeps records and files. The Radiologic Technologist, CF may supervise inmate-workers and the conduct of patients in treatment.
Key Responsibilities:- Instructs and prepares patients for radiologic examinations
- Takes x-rays for a variety of body structures
- Maintains equipment and quarters
- Keeps records and files
- May supervise inmate-workers and the conduct of patients in treatment
- Possession of a current valid certificate as a certified Radiologic Technologist in diagnostic radiologic technology issued by the California State Department of Health Services
- Either I. Two years of experience, including training in radiologic techniques and methods, under an accredited medical radiologist
- Or II. Successful completion of a two-year training program in radiologic technology approved by the Council on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association, in collaboration with the American College of Radiology
