Job Summary:
As a Pharmacy Technician II at Christus Health, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional pharmacy services to our patients. You will work closely with Clinical Pharmacists to ensure the efficient and safe dispensing of medications, while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to Clinical Pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications.
- Assist with medication histories, including verifying patient information and medication lists.
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
- Prepare and package medications according to established policies and procedures.
- Verify patient medication records accurately and maintain up-to-date records.
- Issue controlled substances to patient care areas and maintain accurate records.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure the highest level of patient care.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in medication policies and procedures, and communicate these changes to the team.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of pharmacy technician experience preferred.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of practice required.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred.
- Completion of an ACPE accredited IV certification program.
