About the Role:

We are seeking passionate technical experts who are eager to nurture the next generation of technologists and creatives. As a Software Engineering Facilitator, you will play a vital role in creating a vibrant community of expert facilitators who possess deep industry knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for mentoring and guiding students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Online Coursework: Guide a small class of up to 5 learners through online coursework, utilizing the curriculum and technology provided by The Flatiron School.
  • Provide Personalized Feedback: Offer written and video feedback on projects assigned during the course, helping learners refine their skills and achieve their goals.
  • Lead Weekly Discussions: Facilitate a weekly 1-hour discussion during the course, connecting curriculum concepts with practical, real-world applications.
  • Represent Flatiron School Values: Exemplify and uphold The Flatiron School's values in all interactions and engagements within the community.

Requirements:

  • Leadership Presence: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth among learners.
  • Real-world Application: Connect curriculum concepts with practical, real-world applications, enriching the learning experience and enhancing learners' understanding.

Qualifications:

  • Professional Experience: 4 years of professional experience in the field with some mentoring/leadership experience preferred.
  • Instructional Experience: Preferred experience in instructional or mentoring roles, demonstrating a commitment to guiding and empowering others.

Compensation:

  • $1,800 for the contract, paid bi-weekly during those weeks of facilitation excluding break weeks.
