We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Development Director of Donor Relations and Stewardship to join our team at InsideHigherEd. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of a comprehensive donor relations and stewardship program, with a focus on building strong relationships with donors and securing significant gifts for the university.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a strategic donor relations and stewardship plan that aligns with the university's goals and objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, including identifying and cultivating new donors, and stewarding existing relationships to secure repeat gifts.
- Collaborate with development staff to identify and pursue major gift opportunities, and work closely with senior leadership to develop and implement strategies for securing significant gifts.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive donor recognition and stewardship program, including events, communications, and other activities that recognize and thank donors for their support.
- Manage and analyze data related to donor giving and engagement, and use this information to inform development strategies and tactics.
- Work closely with the marketing and communications team to develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications plan that promotes the university's development efforts and recognizes the support of donors.
- A minimum of seven years of experience in development, stewardship, or a related field, preferably in higher education.
- Proven track record of securing significant gifts and building strong relationships with donors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including donors, senior leadership, and development staff.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage and analyze complex data and develop effective strategies and tactics.
