Position Overview

Role Summary:

The Electrophysiology Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will play a vital role in the management of patients within the Electrophysiology department, both in outpatient and inpatient settings. Collaborating closely with attending physicians, this position involves comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of patients experiencing conduction system disorders and arrhythmias, as well as those with Pacemakers and Defibrillators.


Qualifications:

Experience: Previous experience in Cardiology or Electrophysiology is preferred, whether as an Advanced Practice Provider or in a nursing capacity. Orientation will be tailored to the individual's experience level.

Education: A Master’s degree or higher is required, with graduation from an ANA accredited nursing program.

Licenses and Certifications: Must possess a current New Jersey Registered Nurse license and Advanced Practice Nurse certification through a recognized specialty association. Additionally, current CDS and DEA licenses are mandatory, with compliance required within six months of employment.


Essential Skills:

Maintaining required continuing education credits, current BLS and ACLS certifications, and completing necessary education for nurse practitioner recertification (20 hours of category 1 contact hours annually) is essential. A minimum of 50% of overall credits every five years must be from an ANCC approved provider. Proficiency in computer systems is also required.


Interpersonal Communication:

This role necessitates regular internal and external communication, requiring a high degree of tact, discretion, and persuasion to effectively gather information and facilitate cooperation.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

The position involves overseeing the care provided to patients by staff RNs, their families, and therapists.


Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position, requiring 80 bi-weekly hours, with a standard work schedule from Monday to Friday.
