Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Dietitian to join our team at Northwell Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing expert nutrition care to patients and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough interviews with patients and/or family members to gather nutritional history and preferences.
  • Assess patients and document their medical records in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement personalized nutrition care plans in collaboration with medical staff.
  • Collaborate with physicians to recommend therapeutic diet modifications and/or supplemental feedings.
  • Ensure accuracy of diet orders by verifying against physician's orders.
  • Calculate nutrient content of tube feeding, TPN/PPN, and dietary intakes as ordered by physicians.
  • Provide nutritional guidance and counseling to patients and their families.
  • Assist in the development of standardized recipes and oversee food service workers in proper food handling and portion control.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives, including data collection and reporting.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Food, Nutrition, or Dietetics.
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) certification within three months of hire.
  • Active membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is preferred.
