Job Title: Construction Materials Testing Technician

Thompson Engineering is seeking a skilled Construction Materials Testing Technician to join our team in Texas. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of construction materials used in various projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct laboratory tests on soil, asphalt, and concrete materials to ensure compliance with company and client guidelines.
  • Prepare and process samples for testing, including weighing and drying.
  • Enter test data accurately and efficiently onto the proper forms.
  • Maintain a clean and organized working environment, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Perform general maintenance on laboratory equipment and assist other departments as needed.
  • Ensure quality control and quality assurance in every step of the testing process.
Requirements:
  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • General maintenance skills and basic math skills.
  • Ability to learn and follow instructions, with a focus on quality and attention to detail.
  • ACI Level I or II certification and ACI Strength testing certification required.
  • Nuclear gauge certification required.
  • Preferred experience in construction materials testing.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Stand for extended periods and stoop to perform equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
