About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Addiction Specialist to join our team at Mount Sinai Health System. As a key member of our multidisciplinary clinic, you will play a critical role in delivering harm reduction services to a diverse population.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual, group, and family harm reduction counseling services using evidence-based approaches.
  • Co-facilitate Methadone Maintenance and Meditation Group, as well as other groups to be determined.
  • Assist with client in-reach and outreach activities, including targeted case finding and client engagement.
  • Conduct initial intakes and assessments/reassessments and service plans with program participants.
  • Coordinate with primary care providers to ensure clients are engaged in HIV care and linked to other support services.
  • Develop and implement individual treatment plans, and maintain accurate records through our electronic health record system.
  • Provide referrals to detox and in-patient treatment facilities, and communicate with collateral contacts as needed.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including social workers, nurses, and physicians, to provide comprehensive care.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • BA/BS degree with 2 years minimum of related experience, or CASAC-T/CASAC certification.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Good organization and interpersonal skills, with ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and other electronic health record systems.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
